What Happens at Every Inspection Appointment
Every appointment follows the same structured process. The technician starts by reviewing your fireplace’s service history with you directly. From there, the technician moves through a visual flue inspection covering the flue liner, smoke chamber, damper, and firebox.

CSIA Certification & the Training Behind Every Inspection

How Often Should I Schedule a Fireplace Inspection?
The NFPA recommends at least once a year. Annual inspections can catch creosote buildup, liner deterioration, and structural issues before they create a fire or carbon monoxide risk. The heating season puts repeated stress on every component in your system. A year is enough time for conditions to change meaningfully.
What Does a Level 1 Inspection Include?
A Level 1 inspection covers all accessible interior and exterior components: firebox, damper, smoke chamber, flue liner, crown, cap, and exterior masonry. It’s the appropriate inspection for a system under normal continued use and is what we perform at a standard annual appointment. A Level 2 inspection is typically recommended for real estate transactions, after a chimney fire, or when a new appliance is added to the system. Level 3 inspections are warranted only when a hidden hazard is suspected that Level 1 or Level 2 methods cannot evaluate.
