What Every Inspection Includes
Every technician on our team is certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA), which means every inspection is performed against a defined national safety standard, not a loose checklist. NFPA 211 recommends annual chimney and fireplace inspections, and we align our service schedule to that standard because a single season of missed maintenance can let creosote buildup, moisture intrusion, or structural deterioration advance into a serious hazard.
Chimney Repairs & Masonry Restoration in Ozaukee County
Water is behind most chimney problems. Once moisture reaches masonry through cracked flue tiles, failing mortar joints, or a damaged crown, it triggers a chain of deterioration that only gets more expensive to fix. Ozaukee County’s freeze-thaw cycles accelerate that process significantly.
Warning signs worth noting include:

When deteriorated mortar joints are the problem, tuckpointing (grinding out and replacing the old mortar) is often the only repair needed. Our tuckpointing work carries a standard five-year warranty. Adding optional ChimneySaver water repellent extends that to ten years of total protection.
When flue tiles lose structural integrity, we install a stainless steel chimney liner to stop internal moisture intrusion at the source. For chimneys beyond restoration, we handle full or partial masonry rebuilds. A masonry rebuild typically takes three to five days; appliance chimney rebuilds usually run one day. During a rebuild, we work to match new brick colors to the originals, can stain bricks if needed, and pour a new 5-inch-thick concrete crown with a 2-inch overhang. Smoke chamber repair is also part of our masonry scope.

We install gas fireplace inserts, wood fireplace inserts, gas burning stoves, and wood burning stoves, and we handle new fireplace installations for homeowners building from scratch. A gas insert offers low-maintenance, instant heat; a wood-burning insert delivers significantly higher heat output. Both require proper flue relining to meet safety codes, and because we handle both the insert and the liner, the whole project stays with one crew.

Training That Raises the Bar
On the last Friday of every month, we pull the entire team out of the field for a full day of training covering safety, technical procedures, and hands-on field work. We’ve opened these sessions to other chimney and fireplace companies in the area. That’s uncommon in a trade where most companies train behind closed doors, and we do it because raising the bar across the industry ultimately makes every home safer.
Training isn’t reserved for monthly sessions. Every Tuesday, we dedicate an hour of our team meeting to a focused topic: safety refreshers, code updates, technical procedures, or industry standards. It’s embedded into how we operate week to week.

How do I know if my chimney needs cleaning?
The clearest signs are visible creosote buildup in the firebox, reduced draft, smoke entering the room, or a strong odor when the fireplace isn't in use. That said, you may not notice anything visible at all — which is exactly why the NFPA recommends an annual inspection regardless of how much you use the fireplace.
What's the difference between a sweep and an inspection?
A sweep removes creosote and debris from the flue. An inspection assesses the structural condition of the flue liner, firebox, crown, and exterior masonry. Our appointments combine both: we sweep, then walk you through a full visual inspection with findings explained before we leave.
