The Training Culture Behind Every Technician We Send to Your Home

Every Butler Chimneys LLC technician is CSIA-certified. They are credentialed through the Chimney Safety Institute of America, the recognized standard-setting body for the chimney and venting industry. CSIA certification isn’t an entry-level designation; it requires passing a rigorous examination covering codes, field practices, and safety standards. It’s the benchmark we hold our team to, and it’s what every inspection and repair is measured against when we’re in your home.

What sets us apart isn’t just the certification. It’s the training discipline behind it. Most companies in the trade train in isolation, on an as-needed basis. We built something different.

  • Weekly In-House Training - Every Tuesday, one hour of our team meeting is set aside for focused training. The topic rotates through safety protocols, code refreshers, technical procedures, and current industry standards. This isn’t a quick review session. It’s built into how we operate week to week, year-round.
  • Monthly Full-Day Field Training - Every last Friday of the month, the entire team comes out of the field for a full day of training covering safety, technical procedures, and hands-on work. We’ve opened these sessions to other chimney and fireplace companies in the area. This approach is unusual in a trade where competitors typically keep training internal. We do it because raising the bar across the industry can make homes safer.
